Danny Khursigara about the effects of purpose
Purpose is heart driven, meaningful, caring. It takes care of productive relationships, successful institutions, joyful employees, passionate creativity and more. But purpose is often difficult to find in a financially driven performance society which has a head driven resonance (competitive, calculating) and structure. When we started with Sustainocracy we asked institutions and citizens to engage in the cocreation of healthy cities and regions. This common purpose has an effect of convergence among all, combining the diversity of authentic talents into a common mission. The heart becomes leading and the head follows. It has a huge, positive impact on all involved and also on the issues at hand, locally and globally.
Listen to the inspiring TED talk of Danny. We are planning to create a series of events together to develop purpose, authenticity and passion together, contextually engaging in the sustainability challenges at hand in the world.
The evolution of a city
The STIR foundation was born as a critical alternative to the mainstream reality that was showing so many inhumane, destructive situations around the world. Contact with people in Italy brought the insight that “this is not a revolution, it is evolution!”. Such change in position of what was being referred to as the City of Tomorrow brought a totally new approach to engaging with our surroundings. Now, 15 years later, we see the effects as the town Eindhoven in the Netherlands, its participating leadership and citizenship, gradually develops signs of phase 4 decision making and behavioral change. It is still at a level of certain tension with phase 3 but evolving. This short video tries to provide some understanding of this intense and inspiring 800 years of evolution. We are curious if you see similar development in your own environment. If so, please elaborate in the comments.
How the reduction of our global energy dependence can improve our sustainable wellness.
We often wonder why we, with Sustainocracy, did not deep dive into the energy transition? We did make some attempts with EQoL (Energy and Quality of Life) but this did not develop at all. The world of energy is a competitive and highly demanding one. And let´s be honest, we at Sustainocracy have a totally different approach. Everything we do, being with AiREAS in de the field of air quality and health, or FRE2SH and its local food resilience communities, is related to reducing our need for energy resources.
Taking off the pressure of our needs for energy also reduces the need to find alternative sources while keeping that part that we save for real needs. Let us have a look at our short video message about this subject and its positive outcome if we take the message at heart.
