New publications about Sustainocracy and our experiences after 13 years of developing this society model based on core human values

In an attempt to write a book about Sustainocracy and our experiences over the years I found it difficult to not fall into the repetition of arguments that have already been covered in other publications. These arguments are however important to understand the context in which Sustainocracy arose as a new mindset and societal approach. On the other hand I understand that there are plenty of people that have already been made acquainted with these details. For them it may be more interesting to see why particular communities were born out of the STIR development and what process they may encountered to deploy themselves. Instead of a book I decided to write articles on the different topics that each had their own very special development. When one introduces and overarching mindset, a way of developing shared responsibilities that differ from the mainstream where we come from, one gets in touch with literally everything in society. I have divided the articles into five different groups so far:

1. General (our core human values, shared responsibility, 4 x WIN entrepreneurial spirit and Sustainocracy)

The core natural human values

Entrepreneurship of the 21st century

Smart cities are healthy cities, healthy cities are smart

2. AiREAS (air quality and health)

AiREAS phase 1 – http://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-319-26940-5

AiREAS phase 3 – http://link.springer.com/book/10.1007%2F978-3-319-45620-1

3. FRE2SH (food self sufficiency)

FRE2SH experiences of developing regional food self sufficiency

4. COS3i (social inclusion)

COS3i, social inclusion into our core human values

5. School of Talents & Wellness (Participatory learning)

Experiences with a new learning system

More publications are to follow, also coming from the research students that get engaged through the different topics. I will try to include them in the diversity of topics that all hang under the umbrella of STIR and Sustainocracy. The publications will be on Springer, Researchgate.net and Academy.edu. They will also be added to the list of publications on this blog. If you wish to comment on any of the publications please feel free to do that either to me through jp@stadvanmorgen.com , via the academic sites or via this blog. We also organize open dialogues in town (Eindhoven) and online if of interest.

Masterclasses are available in 2023 on all these subjects.

Green Friday is healthier and fun

If you really want to make a statement, embracing Green Friday is a beautiful form of activism without the consumerist aggression of the black variety. What to do on Green Friday?

Do NOT buy in bulk, no matter how misleadingly attractive the marketing may be. All those not only lost the economic basis, but also nature and interpersonal relationships.

  • Work from home to finish the week on time and start enjoying the family and friends life. No air pollution today, no traffic jam stress, but social connection.
  • If expected at work go by bike, share transport with someone else or go by public transport. No dirt in the air on our Green Fridays.
  • Eat locally produced food, preferably together with family, friends and acquaintances
  • Buy directly from the farmer, without intermediaries such as the supermarket
  • You can also find clues NOT to go to work. A day of rest, walking in nature, attention for yourself.
  • Get a massage, do yoga or go cycling. Enjoy the now, the anti-stress and your green approach.
  • Do some gardening, alone or with others. Think of edible plants in the garden.
  • Let others know that you choose Green Friday. Maybe they’ll join.
  • Maybe you enjoy crafts and will spend the day making beautiful things from discarded materials?
  • Or spend a day helping a healthcare provider, a community building, or cleaning up messes in the street.
  • Or ask your neighbors. Maybe they need something, but don’t dare to ask or don’t know who to turn to.

In short, Green Friday is socially binding, environmentally conscious, something we should always be. Only today we will pay extra attention to it because there are so many that do the opposite. Also businesses join and take their personnel out for social work and teambuilding activities. They refuse to spoil their authenticity, image and functioning, preferring to join some 4 x WIN activities instead.

Involving young people internationally

During the weekly radio program of our Society of Tomorrow (Sustainocracy) I had the opportunity to talk with our European partners. They develop exchange programs for and with our young generations together with schools and institutions. The European Erasmus+ program is often used for funding. Sustainocracy provides inspirational content.
