Some necessary issues that create a totally new economy, save humankind and the planet but make the current power structures obsolete
Our current human world is in drastic need of a fundamental transformation. If we don“t we destroy our habitat and our sustainable expectations as a species. If we do we create numerous new opportunities for humankind but challenge all the power hierarchies in place right now. Let us take the four big lines of transformation that we see as an absolute necessity.
Energy
The sun is the main supplier of energy on Earth. All life on our planet has been made possible thanks to this continuous source. Other energetic players in the development of life have been the rotation of our planet Earth, the movement of water (influenced by gravity, evaporation and the Moon) and the windy weather patterns. Humankind however decided to build its golden age of (technological) welfare on the usage of fossil fuels. This natural source of storage of millions of years of sunlight and carbon combinations provided us with incredible amounts of energy and equal amounts of pollution. Part of our climate issues can be directly related to our addiction to burning fuels.
The end of the fossil fuel era in sight. It has had and still has devastating consequences on our surroundings and our health. After all we have been using it for a few hundred years without any ethical bounderies. Now a desperate search is going on for alternative sources that sustain the same level of energy usage. Most of the solutions found are as destructive as the original fossil fuel problem.
The real issue is not the availability of sources of energy. It is our unjustified massive need for it. Most individuals (especially in industrialized countries) and communities use energy for transportation, the production and logistics of everything we consume, for warmth in our homes or offices, and for cooking our food. Compared to any other living species, in our modern world of technology, we use up many thousand times more energy per person and society than we stricktly should and need as a natural species.
If one tree in a forest would behave as a human being than the forest would disappear, consumed by this single tree. And in the end the tree would disappear due to the lack of a forest. Thankfully the tree uses sunlight to live and develops a working relationship with the other trees and the living world around it. If human beings would behave like trees we would be bathing in abundance and wellness, not in the risk of our self elimination.
The message hence is to reduce our individual and collective energy usage by at least 75%. This is a great challenge in which we can deploy our scientific knowledge as well as a creative, innovative nature. Our main supplier is the sun for the remaining 25% and for this we need to become regionally self sufficient in a clean and neat way.
Social engagement instead of money
In our current society all relationships between people, our needs and institutions are organized through money. In essence this means that we delegate our wellbeing to a whole set of financial players. This has two important consequences. The first is that we as individuals have lost our sense of responsibility towards important issues. Secondly we expect that responsibility to be taken by those financially oriented players. We are now becoming aware that this is not taken, certainly not in a proactive manner. The institutions built within the financial cloud have a financial dependence and fragmented focus. None can be helt responsible for “the whole”. Even local territorial government is managing a territory as a profit and costs, not as a shared responsibility.
This means that we need to engage again directly with our own responsibilities, certainly when they refer to our core natural human values as a biological species that also dependents on its natural environment for our integral health, wellness and sustainable expectations. We need to learn to see society not as a profit and loss account but as a cocreative shared responsibility. Our financially based society has torn our relationships apart based on self centeredness and shared services against a price. Our social engagement brings back our care for and with each other, our environment and the abundant reciprocity we receive through this interaction.
The message here is that we connect again with real values directly, like the air we breath, the food we eat, the water we drink, the warmth we need and work together with our follow people on our health and safety together in self aware cocreation. Money, if needed at all, is just a means. Institutions are our values driven instruments that share our responsibilities with us, not against us.
Regenerative, local, circular and clean productivity
We currently misuse our available resources in a destructive and abusive way. We are surrounded by a sense of shopping abundance that is being realized against the destruction of our habitat, often without recovery due to lack of return or circular processes. We have created black holes of blind consumption and waste pollution. Overall this era is referred to the Anthropocene. This is the only era that humankind leaves an unerasable destructive footprint on our planet Earth. In a way that we are well on our way in eliminating ourselves.
The only way to turn this around is to develop regenerative, local, circular and clean productivity that covers our needs and reuses our resources over and over again. We don’t have to own any material resources and can create patterns of usages and reusage. Local productivity in this way demands the involvement of the entire population.
The message here is that we share our responsibilities, our productivity and value creation together in a natural, circular and regenerative manner. We redesign our communities (cities, rural) to optimally fullfil this on a local for local scale. We interconnect regionally to share our abundance and help cocreate wellness and our core values on a global networked scale.
Engagement of our youngest generations
The leadership required for these points is one of wise senior adulthood, not (young) blind speculative opportunism. Our learning towards such leadership starts already at the level of early childhood. This means that our educational patterns need to be restructured. Rather than setting the scene of an indoctrinized social structure of dependence we need to help our young people themselves in awareness, empathy, sense of responsibility, open reflection and feed back loops, self leadership, cocreation of core values and togetherness. Their guidance will be done on developing their own authentic and meaningful identity, equality, safety, health, awareness, trust and cocreation of genuin values.
The message here is that we need to present an open learning space for our youngest generations where they can optimally develop themselves without indoctrination but a core natural human values attitude towards awareness building, self reflection and self leadership. They will walk through all their growing up phase with new role models in societal engagement and working together.
Words and their meaning
Words
We learn and use new words every day. Etymology for instance crossed my path for the first time today. I may have heard or seen it before but it has never entered my consciousness as it did today.
We pick up new words and even change the meaning of words over time. Etymology studies these patterns. This reminded me of a book about English language that I read once. It showed the study of migration of people in the middle ages from one area to another, through marriage, travel, war or other circumstances, by the sudden appearance of specific words in a region. Linguistic archeology! That facinated me already back then! Having lived in many places in different countries I developed even a special sense around the pronounciation of words and the origin of people. In Spain and here in Holland as well, the words and accents differ between adjacent villages, just a few miles apart.
The times in which we live today are just as exciting in linguistics as our past. Never before so many words have been reformated, screwed up or given a totally new significance as today. Internet, social media and the unique interpretation of words by our youngest generations has created a totally new vocabulary, giving new significance to old words, agreeing on commonly accepted new expressions, including even totally new words, expressions and letter combinations. My teenage daughter communicates with her friends through skype, Instagram, life streams, twitter and texting using a combination of images, short video’s, voice recordings, abreviations, emoticons and verbal emotions. When I see a written sentence she sees and senses a multidimensional storyboard.
Never before it has been more difficult to communicate and actually understand eachother. I even concluded that I cannot communicate anymore at my own level of societal resonance without introducing new words and images of myself. All old and current words often have a totally different energy and meaning to what I want to get across. Old words in a new jacket need as much cognition or explanation as new words in an old world. That is why I invent fresh ones of our own to resonate with, with their own fresh energetic charge. Back in 2003 I decided that I wanted to pass on a new reality to my children than the perversely dangerous political economic reality that we had created over decades or even centuries and that was destroying our habitat but also the harmony of our communities. With the decision to start creating a new society by being that society it never crossed my mind that such decision would end up into a new vocabulary too.
Words as energy carriers
Words carry meaning, history, culture as well as significance. A word transmitted by someone may not at all be the same word that the receiving part interprets. Context is part of the meaning, the communicative intentions of the sender charge it with part of him or her self. The receiver may recharge the word according one’s own resonance. Communication then becomes nearly impossible, especially when we develop new realities in a world of our own. That’s also the reason why I never dispute the old reality anymore in an attempt to convince people that it is obsolete and wrong for the times to come. I invite them to my new world and sense the energy, vibes and new communicative reality that grows in the new community that shapes itself and expands.
Parallel worlds
I simply use words and drawings, my teenage daughter combines words with emotions and foto’s. My parents use words and photoalbums and charge them with their own generational meaning. A conversation between grandmother and granddaughter easily becomes a Tower of Babel with remarks like “when I was your age” and a whole load of energy that is totally misunderstood by both. We are now living in parallel worlds and learn to deal with it through awareness.
A world organisation in extraordinary transit
Take the word “economy” for instance. What does it mean? We all use the word regularly or encounter it in our daily reality. But do we know what it means? Do we have a common understanding or an individual resonance? Or do we just use the contemporary public understanding of the term “money in my pocket to buy what I need”? Economy as a word has so many different formal and informal meanings and sensitivities that we first need to agree on the meaning of single word within a conversation before we can actually have a conversation.
Another word that gives rise to many hours of confusion is “sustainability”. An Italian student actually made a study and asked people of different cultures what that word ment for them. The report was shared with us through this blog.
Sustainocracy
Then people ask me why I introduced this word? The reason is simply that all other words that were already taken never allowed me to express myself because they were interpreted by my audience through the energetic programming of our current reality. When I wanted to talk about sustainable human progress from a humanitarian and evolutionary point of view I lost my audience because their mind was programmed to understand “Sustainable human progress = technological measures to assure energy supplies”. The same happens when I use the word “democracy” in the context of freedom of choice and required self-responsibility while my audience hears “government dependence and elections”.
So by introducing Sustainocracy I could capture the open mind of people who spend time getting a feeling by what I want them to feel rather than having to dispute the type of resonance around an already existing word. When saying Sustainocracy I am always right in its interpretation because I coined the complexity myself. When I say the “democracy of sustainable human progress” I get disputes around every word. An energetic chaos appears while we never get to the essentials of feeling the new energy of harmony and progression. Using that single word “Sustainocracy” I instantly bridge chaos with the opportunity to develop awareness and cocreation.
Our world of perception is governed by energies. If we voluntarily or intentionally change the resonance we change the perception. This is an extremely interesting field of societal research when dealing with the complexity of our evolution and the challenges we face because we managed to manoeuvre ourselves into a erroneous field of destructive resonance. Being able to remediate that with just one word, a word that carries the entire energetic DNA of a new global human society in harmonic relationship with our surroundings, is an unprecedented quantum leap in our own evolution. A new type of energetically sensitive humankind is born.
Money and solar energy
When dealing with the City of Tomorrow as STIR Foundation we are challenged by banking people to help define the “bank of tomorrow”. New initiatives are being worked out but invariably the issue arrives at the financing of banking services, the salary of bank personnel. They keep seeing money as a product, not as a means and calculate profit by introducing an interest rate.
Money is energy
I try to explain the concept of money as energy in value creation processes. I compare money with solar energy. If we had to pay interest over the energy provided by the Sun then Earth would have to generate more energy than the Sun to pay back. That is impossible in nature.
The same goes for money. We cannot create more money, we can create values by using money, just like we use the energy of the Sun to create and sustain life.
Speculation
Most bankers get confused with the term “money creation” from money, the magic of making 2 euros out of 1 so to say. This term was introduced when money became an instrument for speculation. If you lend 100 against 103 per year, you “created” 3 the first year. After 23 years you have “created” 200. 1 became 2 as by the art of magic.
This is of course no money creation. It is an illusion that is created by transforming human or material energy into money by taking it away from circulation.
If you invest 100 in a precious stone when there is a shortage of such stones then you can sell it again for 300. One may think that money is created but again it is an illusion. All that is done is a stone being taken from the circulation to create a shortage slowing down value creation in exchange for speculation. We have not created money, we made the circulation of values less accessible for progress. If the stone is a gem the hoarding would be fine because its value is mere psychology. But when this psychology is used for a house for people to live in it would be a disaster. Worst still, if it is food instead of stones life would be exchanged for death. In the end everything would come to a hold.
If we would take solar energy away from life out of speculative interests then we would not bid but cease to exist. That is what happens with progress. It disappears.
Bank of Tomorrow
The bank of tomorrow is hence the equivalent for value creation as the Sun is for sustaining life. Money is as solar energy that needs to flow freely in evolutionary processes like the transformation of light ot heat into practical energy for usage in life creating and sustaining processes. Money is a means. It does not regenerate, create itself or revalue itself. It is a transformative catalyst. We can’t eat money nor live in it.
Salary for bankers
Bank employees are only needed in the bureaucracy around speculation. In the bank of tomorrow no massive amounts of employees are needed. Money is an external source of energetic supply that is only meaningful when things are done with it. People managing that process are compensated by the values they create not the money used. They just have to assure that the energy is used and not speculated with.
In the bank of tomorrow speculation would be prohibited as it kills rather than facilitating life. That is why the bank of tomorrow will not come from the bank of yesterday. The concepts are totally different.
