Lifelong education, sustainable human progress, conciousness and applied sustainable leadership

One of my ambitions is to create a world wide knowledge sharing and consciousness building network for measurable sustainable human progress and the development of individual sustainable leadership.

Now I am ready to set it up.

It is called STIR. Officially it is still the Foundation called Sustainocracy, Transformation, Indexation, Research. In practice it is a learning cooperative between people who want to experiment with their own life, authority and daily responsibility for sustainable development of themselves, their families and their local community.

Top intellectuals
I already have a large personal network of excellent lecturers and intellectuals connected to me via a large diversity of specialisms. My own sustainocratic work gives us plenty of things to do together and a motivation to stick together. This shows me that again that knowledge is only of mutual interest when it can be used in real life. That is where new knowledge develops too to enhance progress even further.

I work with the professors directly not with their institutions. Professors are human with human motivations. Universities are not.

That does not mean that we do not work with the institutions. On the contrary. But we use them for what they represent from a specialised research perspective and detailed specialised education on scientific topics. In STIR we translate this deep knowledge in true sustainable human progress which is a different learning process all together. That is why professors like to work with STIR because it brings their specialism into contact with the tremendous diversity of real life. It is hence a reciprocal process in which the educators learn as well.

STIR invites top lecturers, professors, visionary people, scientific researchers and exemplary pioneers to select or create their own best minors (a short block of lectures and practical exercises that last about 6 month) to be shared with us on and offline. A minor remains in STIR as long as there is sufficient (Global) demand for it.

I expect to be able to offer 100’s of minors for you to choose from. But following a training is not enough. That is not the purpose of STIR. The real purpose is to apply knowledge for local sustainable human progress and make change happen through your commitment. In STIR we also work with Sustainocratic cooperations for the extremely complex issues. When they develop in your area we can budget the STIR education and make it available free of charge.

The only stable factor in life is change.

STIR grows through fractal patterns. We started in Eindhoven and invite anyone to become member free of charge. With enough members in a region we set up a local off line community, otherwise we provide tutorials online.

STIR mission: to contribute to sustainable human progress globally (Global issues, local solutions, global application ).
STIR focus: develop the consciousness and sustainable leadership.
STIR method: lifelong learning by purpose driven experimentation, open reflection and knowledge sharing.
STIR levels: the 5 levels of consciousness, individually and as a community.
STIR infrastructure: Online (Global) and Offline (Local).

We do not tell you how you should live your life, we just help you understand.

STIR website

Membership fee: free of charge but not free of commitment (you commit to sustainable human progress)
Lifelong learning fee: 1% of published average local yearly wages, per person per year. Or free of charge when within local sustainocratic cooperation.
Education: You choose your own education out of all available minors. The more members the more educators.

The first year (2014) will be free of charge also for the learning fee as we build up the network.

Sign up through the website. I will soon publish the first set of online minors (short intensive training of several weeks).

Also sign up if you have a minor to offer. It is a cooperation so feel free to contribute with ideas and initiative. STIR is not just me but all that sign up for the higher good of sustainable development of humankind.

Air pollution produces cancer and death

The World Health Organization issued a press release on October 17th 2013 confirming the global hazard of air pollution causing cancer and death.

In 2011 we started AiREAS in Eindhoven (Netherlands) to take local responsibility for air quality and human health. It is not a new institution. It is a cooperative effort of the four pillars that constitute a modern society: local people (behaviour), government (territory), business (innovation) and science (knowledge and education).

The way AiREAS works

The way AiREAS works

The problem we face is that air pollution is a consequence of our way of structuring society (the system) around consumption. To address this issue we can try to modify the parts that pollute. This has been done for many years already through government regulations and bureaucracy. It produced certain important levels of results. The application of norms was related to the unhealthiness of environmental pollution. These norms did not account for the mortality of cancer produced by the outdoor pollution. This now changes.

The situation compares with the awareness of energy consumption in 1970’s in relation to oil shortages. People started to take action by using energy saving light bulbs and other measures. The increase though of energy consuming household appliances multiplied the usage of energy through lifestyle despite the awareness. Energy itself does not necessarily kill people, now we know that air pollution does. Air pollution has to do with lifestyle and what we burn.

Another example is the cancer producing asbestos. Severe measures are still needed to clean up the environment from this lethal substance.

Many law suits were fought in court for negligence or negation at expense of human health. The current acknowledgment of the World Health Organization should start worrying powerful organisations that are on the pollution end. We will enter now a transformation phase of society that will solve a lot of related problems.

What we find is that the system that produced wellness and economies of growth also produces the highest outdoor pollution. The relationship between booming economies and pollution is a challenge of its own. We have seen system’s managers, political and economic leaders choose in favor of the system’s lobby and against human sustainable progress.

Stress between the system and human natural stability should be positive, not killing

Stress between the system and human evolutionary progress should be positive, not killing

AiREAS is unique in the sense that it positions the formal multidisciplinary cooperation at the natural human being side, inviting leading people from the dominant system to take responsibility together for the local environment and health. And they accept (in Eindhoven where we started).

Within the ruling system the different partners act as competitors or through financially interdependent relationships (sales, subsidies, taxes, wages, etc) on which power and authority is claimed. Within AiREAS this inequality disappears. They all take responsibility together by submitting their talents and authority around a common purpose introducing a new lobby: the health city or region from an air quality and human health point of view.

It works surprisingly well when the multidisciplinary group is complete. The institutional systems become positive instruments in hands of responsible human beings that have a leadership position in each system. They join forces at human, not system’s level, out of self interest and with a creative purpose: sustainable human progress through health and safety.

Cancer has no hierarchically positioning, nor does responsibility. It both affects us all. The effects of combined progressive authority (as opposed to usage of power and blockage of institutional selfishness) can be decisive when addressing sustainable life issues. Bringing together the entire diversity at a regional level does make that difference. It can now even be demanded. Health was maybe abstract but cancer is not anymore.

* Those who individually pollute need to transform voluntarily or they will face the consequences by those who claim responsibility, No finger pointing at others will help anymore. If in need of help it should be asked, not waited for.

* Those who can contribute to the transformation  through talent and authority should work together through ventures like AiREAS. Not participating in the solution of one of the most serious issues of modern times is also liable to disputes while participating has obvious benefits.

AiREAS can be applied anywhere in the world on a local for local for global basis.

Curing is a cost and negligence, solving and preventing is an investment in ethics and responsibility.

By doing so we transform the world by affecting the environment, human interests and economies positively.

  • 4 universities (heart, lung, botanic, modulation, climate, space, behavior, perception, etc) combine the data with practical health information obtained from the field and provide knowledge to the team.
  • Stip-Step measures are taken in co-creation in infrastructure, traffic flow, public communication and interaction, civilian initiatives and value driven entrepreneurship.
  • a transformation economy is established to finance progress through a circular, result driven structure independent of local tax money feeding local progress.
  • World wide we present our innovations through our multinational partners and by establishing Local AiREAS wherever sufficient multidisciplinary commitment is united.

Interest has been shown in other regions. Transformation steps are being taken by citizens in Breda (Netherlands), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) and Poland while via multinational partners initiatives are rolled out commercially as well.

Happiness, what’s that?

The October open public evening lecture of the STIR Academy dealt with “happiness”. Why is happiness so important to us? What is it? How can we produce it?

Happiness
Happiness is key for progress. It represents an inner feeling that is hard to describe in words. The sensation can occur at any time and even under the strangest circumstances. It feels like a sort of joy yet it is more than that. In reality happiness is produced by endorphin’s, a set of hormones that are released by the brain under certain circumstances. It helps to develop our self esteem to address the challenges of life. In fact, happiness is an evolutionary development right from our single cell origins of life, and even further back: the very first harmonic connection between molecules to produce life.

One of the previous STIR lectures dealt with the “secretes of life” and the harmonic musical relationship between elements that are attracted to each other under extremely specific circumstances. They do not fuse or react but combine harmonically into something called “life”. This unique format of interconnection produces a standard frequency to which certain elements are attracted. In fact this molecular “musicality” of attraction is what triggers the endorphin in our body. It defines “purpose” on the unconscious levels, which we then try to figure out at the level of consciousness. Since we are blessed with self reflection we interpret the injection as pleasant which helps us learn and understand our progress in a pleasant way.

Happiness is hence produced by interaction of our senses with our molecular musical origins. That is why we can react with happiness when seeing certain colors, smelling certain smells or hear a certain sound. We can experience this happiness over and over again when we recall this trigger in our memory. There are various large fields of activity that make us happy and each field has to do with our living organic essentials:

    • Food

Eating itself makes us feel happy. It is not just the mere consumption but also the activity of achieving food, preparing it and the satisfaction of eating and having eaten. Food is also a team exercise of the human being that makes us challenge each other in competition and join forces in productivity and consumption. In many cultures eating together is a daily ritual of happiness.

    • Reproduction

The selection process of finding a mating partner, sexual activities, having children and raising them is a process of continuous joy and happiness. The inner excitement, the courtship, the surrendering, the development of a family and experiences of trust and togetherness, are key happiness values that push us towards reproduction in a positive way despite the worries, reduced levels of personal freedom and commitment to a single partner. We find harmony inside and outside through contrasts and excitement.

The voyage through life produces happiness

The voyage through life produces happiness

    • Accomplishment

The voyage of life is full of obstacles. The experience of happiness is produced at the excitement of a prospect to do something, even if the adventure only takes place in our minds. The living fact of undertaking action through the expectation of certain results makes us feel happy throughout the entire process: the prospect, the trajectory, the achievement and the permanent memory.

Happiness is a true engine in life that makes us overcome fear, worries and insecurity. The positive tends to win from the negative, producing a forward sense of progression and even accept defeat through the happiness of having tried. Succeeding in complex challenges is taking the best out of people.

Music, accomplishment, teamwork

    • Environment

Our natural environment is part of our physical and spiritual nature and origins. We are a living combination of everything that surrounds us. We are earth, wind, water and fire, combined through senses. We take a special joy in experiencing our roots through observation and interaction. We enjoy the colors, smells, feeling, tastes etc of nature. It provokes our instincts to express ourselves through art, movement, dance and music. Our happiness makes us create communities and cultures that are as diverse as nature itself.

Colors and natural harmony produces feelings of happiness

Colors and natural harmony produces feelings of happiness

When we summarize happiness we come to a large set of key words that are all part of our continuous quest for harmony by addressing the challenges of life in a pleasant way. We enjoy every step forward, every achievement and cherish every positive memory. There is absolutely no reason why a normal healthy person should not be happy every moment of the day, learn to become aware of it and take joy in living life through managing it even in the most adverse conditions.

Happiness overcomes crises

Our economic world is in crisis. We see ourselves surrounded by the effects of a transaction based society focused on consumption and debt. Broken up families, individualism, loneliness, manipulation around debt, etc have become the unhappy rule of a lifestyle in which happiness was based on creating differences, the having and taking, selfishness. We see cities full of people who don’t know each other. The natural harmony has been severely broken up and people do not even know it anymore. Sense of happiness is sought in artificial tools for excitement such as over-consumption, alcohol, drugs and attractions parks. The more financial wealth the less happy people tend to get. The larger the debts the bigger the unhappiness. In our natural essence debt does not even exist. It is an unnatural inhibitor of happiness. Our societies are based now entirely on financial dependence eliminating natural inner happiness by placing fake happiness triggers around us as consumables. It makes people blunt, unaware and often even emotionally sick.

When however a financial crisis strikes the human being discovers again its natural origins and starts taking joy in the warmth of the community and the challenge of addressing life through creativity and purpose. It is happiness that solves the crises not capital injections, rules or debt systems. Despite all negative communication through the media about financial disasters we see large groups of people discover happiness and develop communities based on the values of joy and happiness rather than materialism. Happiness is produced by the voyage through life, the sharing and giving, the positive and our sense of progression. Indeed money does not make anyone happy. It may produce some sense of security in a money driven society but true happiness is found inside, right at the molecular basis of our being that arose billions of years ago when money, systems and societies had not yet even been invented. Happiness is the oldest feeling ever of the evolution of species and comes even well before fear.

STIR Academy

The academy invites people to a world of human health, safety and self sufficiency. The awareness of our feelings and the origins and purpose of our senses, including happiness, is key to produce sustainable human progress. Through emotional, spiritual, rational and physical interaction, research and awareness programs people

A sense of freedom is key to experience happiness to the full.

A sense of freedom is key to experience happiness to the full.

are invited to let go of their systems dependence and reconnect by taking responsibility of their own. People who break through in higher self awareness become active in sustainocratic ventures where sustainable human progress is the same as personal wealth.
