Unity in Diversity

Our online Peace event today was about avoiding that prejudice could destroy our relationships or create unnecessary conflicts or misunderstanding. We looked at four totally different countries:

Guatemala (by Alfredo Vasquez)

Alfredo gave a great presentation made in Prezi. It showed the enormous amount of indigenous cultures in this small country in Middle America, the historical influence of the Mayas and even the meaning of the name Guatemala (area of many trees).

Hungary (by Andras Laszlo)

Apart from the online presentation, Andras selected a set of videos about Hungary that he invites us to watch. Here is one already…

He also shared a PDF with us with more information.

Nigeria (by Ukpeme Okon)

Apart from all the comments provided by Ukpeme she also shared a few illustrative videos about Nigeria as it is today.

The Netherlands (by Jean-Paul Close)

A lot can be said about the Netherlands. Jean-Paul highlighted a few elements through a presentation and also chose a video illustrate the flatness of this watery country.

Our 4th free online Peace event, April 20th at 17.00 CET

In our previous events we dealt with peace from the perspective of conflict mediation, inner peace development and the power of the heart as a potential radiator of positiveness. This time we are going to deal with the issue of misleading information and predjudice that leads to unnecessary and avoidable fear for the other, social fragmentation and even conflicts. We are going to look together at four different cultures: The Netherlands, Nigeria, Guatemala and one more.

Please register with your name and emailaddress for the event through this link. You will receive an instant confirmation, the link and possibility to store it in your agenda.

Invitation to create your own local Peace event around our global Peace event on July 9th

On July 9th a worldwide Jazz Event will be held in Abuja, Nigeria. This event will be streamed live worldwide to those partners in our network that wish to share our message of Peace and shared responsibilities around core human and natural values.

What could your local event look like?

You could make agreements with a local bar, a restaurant or theater, to invite local citizens to your event. During the event you organize local talks with key messages of shared responsibilities for sustainable human progress. You receive the streaming link (at 8€ cost of participation) with which you can show the entire musical event to your own public. It is up to you if you add elements like food and drinks to your own event and like that cover your local costs. You would need a large screen and a good internet connection to be able to stream the show. The rest of the setting is entirely up to you.

STIR is partner to extend our human centered way of working with complex issues and the ethics of our shared responsibilities. We also suggest to network the initiatives, not only for the 9th of July, but also for the development of possible future programs together. Please drop a note to jp@stadvanmorgen.com if you like to join the network.
